Spotting Chart
How to mix your spot removers
Steve's Cleaning & Restoration Spot Out: Call Steve's Cleaning & Restoration
Ammonia: One teaspoon clear ammonia to one-half cup water
Laundry Detergent: One teaspoon of laundry detergent to one cup water
Dish Detergent: One teaspoon mild dish detergent to one cup water
White Vinegar: One - third cup white distilled vinegar to two-thirds cup water
Dry Cleaning fluid: This may be picked up at a hardware store or a paint store
Lipstick
1. Apply dry cleaning solution and blot.
2.Apply dish detergent solution or use Steve's Cleaning & Restoration Spot Out and blot.
3.Rinse with tap water and blot dry.
Milk
1. Apply warm water or soda water and blot
2. Apply dish detergent solution or use Steve's Cleaning & Restoration Spot Out and blot
3. Apply ammonia solution and blot again
4. Rinse with tap water and bot dry.
Mud
1. Let dry.
2. Brush, scrape or vacuum off as much as possible.
3. Apply dish detergent solution or use Steve's Cleaning & Restoration Spot Out blot
4. Rinse with tap water and blot dry.
Mustard
1. Apply dish detergent solution or use Steve's Cleaning & Restoration Spot Out and blot
2. Apply white vinegar solution and blot.
3. Apply laundry detergent and blot
4. Rinse with tap water and blot.
Nail Polish
1. Apply nail polish remover with acetone.
Pretest a spot to see if has adverse affects on the carpet.
Oil
1. Apply dry cleaning solution and blot.

Paint - Water-Based
1. Flush carpet with a lot of water and use a shop vacuum to suck up the paint and water.
2. Cover the paint with wet towels so that the paint doesn't dry and call Steve's Cleaning & Restoration for more help.
Paint - Oil-Base
1. Apply dry cleaning solution and bot.( don't over wet the carpet or it may delaminate)
2. For large spills cover the paint with plastic to keep the paint form drying and call Steve's Cleaning & Restoration for more help.
Rust
1. Cut a lemon in half and place it on the rust spot over may.
2. There are commercial rust removers that may be used but they are dangerous to use and must be extracted.
